Now that you see a selection of starting hands to play preflop, time to answer how to play them. The top six hands (AA, KK, QQ, AKs, AQs, and AKoffsuit) are the best hands to play for a raise. In early position(the first 3 seats after the big blind) almost always come in for a raise, there will be situations where a call is needed to randomize your style to keep from being predictable. A raise of 3x-4x the big blind is the best number to shoot for on a raise. Again vary this bet so you dont become predictable. From middle position(the 4th and 5th after the big blind) a rasie of 3x bb or a re-raise of the size of the pot if someone opened up in front of you. In late position(6th and 7th seats after the big blind) you can raise a little more and odds are you will get more callers because they will see your raise as a steal attempt. In the blinds you dont have to rasie as much because you have a little money in the pot. These areas of raises are designed to build a pot or win blinds.
